Student Association
Our Structure
Overseen by our faculty advisor, Dr. James Tyger, the Hispanic-Latine Student Association is comprised of four main levels of involvement. There is our Faculty Advisor, the Executive Board, Cabinet, and our Member/Associate Groups.

The Executive Board
The Executive Board leads HSA, ensuring its smooth operation and advocating for the Hispanic-Latine community at UF and in Gainesville. Elections are held every March to select a new President and executive team, except for the Office of Political Affairs Executive Director(s), who are appointed by the Executive Board. Each member is responsible for fulfilling their constitutional duties, as outlined on GatorConnect, and managing their respective cabinets. Want to meet this year’s team? Click here.
Cabinet
Each Executive Team member leads a dedicated cabinet that helps them fulfill their roles and responsibilities. Our cabinet offers a diverse range of positions, from Newsletter Director to Graphics Director to GBM Director. With over 80 members working together, the cabinet meets weekly on Thursdays to ensure HSA continues to host engaging and exciting events that celebrate our culture and community on campus. Cabinet applications open up at the end of Spring semester/beginning of Fall, so make sure to be on the lookout!
Member/Associate Groups
Organization Development Committee
The Organization Development Committee, made up of 9 Cabinet Representatives and 9 General Body Representatives, serves as a jack-of-all-trades team. They play a key role in brainstorming new ideas for HSA and identifying solutions to challenges or areas for improvement within the organization.
Member Leadership Program (MLP)
The Hispanic Student Association’s Member Leadership Program (MLP) is a mentorship and leadership program for freshmen, sophomores, and first-year transfer students. Our mission is to foster growth, development, and success in order to create principled leaders that will empower our community. Through MLP, our students are able to network with fellow students and alumni, create everlasting friendships, shadow student leaders on campus, receive advice and guidance from their very own MLP Mentor, and professionally develop themselves into the future leaders of our community. The Affiliated Organization Council meets monthly to provide important updates, foster collaboration, and offer support to organization leaders. Hispanic-Latine Student Assembly
The Hispanic-Latine Student Assembly (HLSA) serves as the welcome assembly for the Hispanic-Latine community every fall. Filled with food, music, merchandise, and performances, HLSA serves as a grand welcome to the beginning of a new school year. Executive director applications open every spring, make sure to follow @hsa.uf on Instagram to see when application open. For more information about HLSA, click here.

General Body Members (GBMers) are the students who attend and support HSA’s various events, forming our HSA familia and fostering a strong sense of cultural pride on campus.
